Description:

There were only 2 Ralt RT-24s produced. The cars were based on the prior Ralt RT-23 using the monocoque, gearbox and suspension from that car. The RT-24's had revised aero packages that included nose with wing, floor, side pods, engine cover, diffuser and rollbar. These updates were designed by Nick Wirth and Max Mosely's Simtek Engineering. According to Ron Tauranac's biography, 'Brabham, Ralt, Honda' (page 183) both of the RT-24s were bought in early '92 by Nelson Piquet for Olivier Beretta's F3000 championship effort. Both RT-24s were sold 2-3 months later when Ralt (owned by March Cars since 1988) pulled out of F3000. Without Ralt's support, racing the RT-24s would be difficult and expensive in sourcing spares and engineering expertise. The car pictured in this ad (chassis #973) was bought from Piquet by Team LeMans in Japan for Takao Wada to race in the 1992 Formula Nippon Championship with Nisseki sponsorship. Wada raced the Nisseki car only twice with Mugen power and changed to Reynard to complete the season. #973 was converted to Judd power and used for testing only from then on.The Nisseki car was bought and tested once in 1998 and then sold to Charlie Warner of Fatto Gatto Racing. Charlie raced the Nisseki car twice in the US BOSS Series in 2001-2. He later found the second RT-24 that Piquet sold to Piemme Motor Sports for Giambattista Busi's (chassis #981) to race in the FIA's F3000 championship and brought it to the US. This is the second, fully disassembled car to use for spares. A full documentation of all the spares and support equipment is available. Pendragon acquired the Nisseki car from Fatto Gatto Racing in running condition with the second car disassembled in 2002 including body work molds and control arm fixtures. The Pendragon package for sale here includes the running, Judd 3.0 liter V8 powered Nisseki car and the second fully disassembled car plus pit and driver's gear. The Bob Slade rebuilt engine has 75 test and 75 race miles.
