Description:

1983 Ralt RT-5 Formula Atlantic with 1984 side pods in original Super Vee configuration. Only 14 pro races and 2 amateur races since new, as documented in the original log book. Complete ground up rebuild and updates in 1989, then a non-racing injury prevented me from ever finishing it and has been stored in my garage since. Car is assembled and 95% complete, but not running. It was approximately 30 man hours away from being race ready when stored and needs the detail work completed. It will also require attention from years of storage. Schrick/Bosch mechanical fuel injected 1600 engine was rebuilt by Donny Souter Racing in Houston using Bertils spec components and prepared for storage, but never started. Tub was rebuilt with Bahner recommended updates and aligned to tighter than factory tolerances. Many new parts throughout, including all new AN fasteners. Spares include new nose, front wings and misc engine parts. Everything goes, including chassis work stands, quick jack, spares storage chests and more. Included is a 2” binder that has all the rebuild documentation, set up recommendations, Ralt America / Ralt Cars Ltd spec sheets and installation diagrams, Bosch fuel injection manual pages, Hewland manual and added component drawings. Car is currently as you see it in the pictures. Ideal for vintage racing, club FA or CSR conversion. Car is available for pickup in Houston, Texas.

History

This car was originally owned by Witt Racing and driven by Price Cobb as car # 22 in the 1983 Bosch Super Vee Championship Series, driving to Series wins at Road America and Leguna Seca and a 2nd overall in the Championship. Car ownership has been independently verified.
