Description:

One of the last RT-1s built it has its' original chassis tag and continuous history from new. Run by John Connolly it was stored for 10 years by Peter Earle before undergoing a restoration and being purchased by Bob Goeldner. Goeldner was very successful with the car in HSR and SVRA events. The car underwent a ground up restoration by GMT Racing including a rebuilt tub to original specs by Marc Bahner. At this time upgrades including Penske shocks by Joe Stimola and new Jongbloed wheels were added along with new bearings, half shafts, plumbing and rod ends as needed. The fuel cells were also replaced at that time. Greg Galdi then bought the car and had it maintained by Wehrman Engineering. The car then passed to Steve Scullen who repainted it in its' present Sunoco Livery.Currently the car is race ready and has a Bill McCurdy built BDD with a new cylinder head and three races on it.


History

Run by John Connolly Racing in the pro Atlantic series through 1980. Stored 10 years after. Fresh tub, engine and gearbox. Run successfully in HSR and SVRA through 2013.Performance Data
