Description:
This 96 Reynard Champcar, restored for HSR BOSS series racing, sports FEDEX livery which originated with that companies series sponsorship. It is fitted with a period correct Cosworth XB series II turbocharged 2.65 liter Methanol engine utilizing full Cosworth electronic management. The XB engine was noted for it's durability and was selected for this application to give long service intervals while delivering in excess of 750 H.P. The car was recently featured in Vintage Motorsports' "Pick of the Liter" column. Motec dash and logger have been fitted. This is a fully operational car with proven on track performance and reliability. Only 1200 miles since completion.
History
Chassis 96I008 originally for Bettenhausen Motorsports,Alumax, driven by Stefan Johannsen. Only 4 races in period, retired for Fedex Showcar use, restored with Cosworth XB series ll in 2006, raced HSR Boss series 2006 and 2007.
