Description:
1988 Swift SE3 Formula Continental Chassis Serial Number: HRD8807 4130 Condition: Excellent. Price: US $9,700 (includes nice Speedwagon open trailer.) Location: Dallas, Texas Description 1988 Swift SE3 Formula Continental — Very nice example in race- ready condition. The car has not been active since 2007 — but it is started and driven through a neighborhood of understanding residents once a month — battery charged and etc. There are 14 races on Farley engine with updated and improved Curtis Farley header system and just 4 races since top end freshened by Charlie Williams. Wings are updated DB6 type (modified to fit SE3) with new version rear wing mounting. Rear axles are gun- drilled (lighter and stronger.) Instruments include new Stewart Warner oil pressure guage, and new Race Tech water temperature guage, New OMP belts and harness good until 2017. All pressure side hoses are Aeroquip. Recent fuel cell, coil, fuel pump, master switch, and gel battery. 12 gear sets including those in Rhino Hewland gearbox. Wheels:4 Compmotive (pictured on car,) with older Hoosiers, 4 Technos (nearly new,) with Goodyears, and 2 Dymags. There are 4 unmounted Goodyear rains in good shape. Spares include spare bodywork that needs to be refinished – including a spare nose, 2 side panels, and 2 lower engine covers. There is also a diffuser (not mounted on car,) and 2 spare sets of front SE3 wings and one spare SE3 rear wing. Included in the spares package is a Quickjack, a battery cart with a fresh battery, 2 solid rear axles, one front lower A arm (for either side,) 2 front rockers, and misc. other items. Included in the price of the car is a really nice Speedwagon open trailer with overhead toolbox. This trailer was design specifically for small formula and sports racing cars. May separate — trailer price is $1,200 U.S. These cars are on the threshold of going up (way up,) in value as they become vintage eligible. In addition to being a competitive Club Formula Continental car, this package would be ideal as a track-day warrior — Corvette quick at a Miata price. History
Two SCCA log books show that car was active from 1992 when SCCA Homologation Certificate was issued to this car — through 2001 — with a total of just 52 events. Car was not entered in events from 2001 to present — but for the last four years, it has been driven every few weeks to keep engine, drivetrain and gearbox fresh.
