Description:
I bought this car as a starter car for my son to go vintage racing with me. I then found a better car and bought it too so this one became available. It does need some work but it would be an inexpensive vintage race car or autocross candidate. The body and frame are very solid with no problems that I can find. Even the fender tops look great. Paint is a thin racer coat of maroon that looks worse in person. The story behind this car is that the guy who owned it, Elmer Peters, raced a TR4A in SCCA. When the 4A got totalled he used the parts to convert his street TR4 to race trim. He never got around to finishing it. The suspension is stock and although the engine compartment looks the part I am suspicious that the engine is just a cammed stock motor. It seems to run well but I have no way of knowing just what he did to the engine. The tranny is an A-Type overdrive and the diff is open. The seat is a 17" Kirkey Intermediate and the rool cage is Autopower. Fuel Cell is too big and it is old, but works fine. The car runs and drives and it registered with antique plates. I also have all the parts to take it back to stock including bumpers, seats, fuel tank, interior dash etc. All came with the car and are in various states of used condition as they were removed from the car by Mr. Peters. There is also a set of stock rims and some old hard tires. I am motivated to sell this car so I am willing to consider pulling the race stuff out if you want it as a street car but I prefer to sell the package.
