Description:

1957 Turner 950S vintage racing car. One of 21 known to survive worldwide. Chassis number 30-087. Car was completely reconstructed in 2002 by Wally Hicks (SCCA's 1978 Class H Production National Champion and master builder). The car has been professionally maintained since. It has competed successfully in SVRA, VRG and VSCCA. It has both SVRA and VSCCA logbooks. The car is accepted at all vintage events and requires no waivers or specific permissions. Build specifics: · Driver safety was paramount in the construction, but the vintage esthetic was preserved. · Legal 948 BMC A engine puts out competitive power in the under 1 liter class. Engine was completely rebuilt in 2006 and due unfortunate health issues was only raced sparingly after the rebuild. Engine currently has 8 1/2 hours on it. · Legal close ratio four speed transmission with square cut gears, new in 2005. · New release bearing, pressure plate and disc in 2012. · Legal Alfin drum brakes. · Legal 4.5” wire wheels · On-board fire system · Two differentials of different ratios · Complete technical information, engine logs, previous results, etc. The car is very attractive and attracts a lot of attention in the paddock. The paint has been refreshed on an annual basis and is good enough to show. As a matter of fact the car won third place in its class in the 2010 Lime Rock Historics, “Sunday in the Park” car show. Photos of it have appeared often in the vintage racing magazines.
