Description:

This is a BMC 948 engine that is rebuilt using County pistons, stock pinch bolt rods and Alexander 7 port head. The engine has been balanced. It lacks carburetors (1-1/4 SU's) in that they need rebuilding. No distributor. Has generator and starter. Smooth case trans (also rebuilt) can be purchased at the same time. This is not a race spec motor in my opinion due to the quality of hardware used in its assembly. Good street engine.


History

Engine was in a Lotus seven series 1 as run by Autosport champion 1960-61. I purchased the car with engine in 2006. I have turned the engine over faithfully every month since then. kTechnical Data
