Description:
This very nicely restored Cooper Junior is of the fourth and last generation of Cooper Formula
Junior cars. A "lay down" Cooper, the car has a very pretty body covering the standard Cooper spaceframe.
A fresh BMC A series drives through a vary rare Jack Knight 6-speed gearbox. Standing on the correct
Cooper Magnesion wheels and nicely restored the car is the perfect picture of the late era Junior.
History
The T65 is the fourth generation Cooper Junior. The T52 debuted in 1960 and
was campaigned Ken Tyrrell with non other than John Surtees at the wheel. The 1961 T56 won it's
debut race in the U.S. driven by Walt Hansgen and that secured a strong order book. Tyrell again ran
a "semi-works" team. The 1962 T59 featured a lower more streamlined shape and disk brakes all around.
The works effort of Tyrrell continued with the 1963 T65 for the final year of Formula Junior. An
American driver on his team was one Peter Revson.
