Lotus Elan S3 FIA GT Standard Race Car, Ground up restoration in 1995 on new chassis.Raced in Historic Sports Car Club Classic Sports Cars Championship, Championship Class Winner 2001, 2002 and 2003. John Smirthwaite built Lotus twin cam engine to FIA GT Standard specification. Close ratio gearbox, uprated suspension full safety equipment.


History

Restored 1995, raced in Historic Sports Car Club Classic Sports Car Championship at Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donnington Park, Oulton Park, Mallory Park, Snetterton and Castle Coombe. Class Champion 2001, 2002 and 2003. Other races include Spa (Belgium)in 2001 and 2003, Jules Thurgood Cloth Cap Challange in 2001 and 2002
