Description:
We have restored and brought the condition of the car to a high level of fit, finish and performance, with all major components receiving freshening updates. This is a tube enhanced, stock tub car, thus the bones of the wonderful Alfa Romeo handling; though with more spring and ARB and better shock valving and suitable changes in the roll centers both front and rear; all appropriate to a thoroughbred racecar. Handling is exceptional, and control, especially in the wet, is amongst the best. Between 2004 and 2007, our usual racing was with HRG (Historic Racing Group) of the NE division of the SCCA, where we ran as many as 5 (levels of performance) (usually 3) groups together in a race group. We raced hard, ran close and competitively, preferring not to parade the cars. The car had many wins, often surpassing cars in groups from higher performance levels. This ALFA is highly competitive today, for it sports excellent handling and a highly modified twin cam engine. All aspects of the car have been enhanced over the years to about as high a state of preparedness as is possible.
History
The car’s log book begins during 1978. In the earlier years, Jon Mirachi, now principal of Racers Edge Motorsports, owned and ran the car in SCCA club racing in the northeast and central eastern United States . It was purchased and taken to Washington State, where it was campaigned in SCCA, and NASPORT races as a GT3 class car, until 1986. We bought the car and brought it to Connecticut in 2003 with in mind to run it in HSR, SVRA, VRG, SCCA HRG and other vintage racing sanctioning bodies as an up to 1972 production based racecar.
