Description:
1965 Sunbeam Tiger Vintage Race Car Vin B9470725 SVRA Group 3/ CP Yes this is a “real Tiger” with title and is most likely the fastest and best handling Sunbeam Tiger in the country. All of the chassis and fabrication work was crafted by the famed Wally Peat(*) of Shelby American Racing. I built this Tiger to race in the SVRA / HSR historic racing circuit and followed their guidelines throughout the process. We built a 260 ci for several reasons. First is, I already have a car that runs in the Big Bore class and would not be able to race both cars. The second reason is that as a 260, it will run in the Small Bore group ( Group 3 SVRA) and would be insanely competitive against some of the other cars that run in there, such as Alfa Romeos, Porsche 356 , Triumph, Datsun 510, Lotus, Jaguire to name a few. With the right driver behind the wheel I am 100% confident that not only would this Tiger win its class, it would most likely beat the entire group. The thunderous sound of this 473 hp V8 is incredible and surely will intimidate all in your race class. * Who is Wally Peat? – Wally Peat was Carol Shelby’s Crew Chief and Mechanic in the early sixties. He was also one who did most of the work on the famous original Shelby King Cobra & numerous other Shelby’s. Wally spent a number of years with Shelby as well as crew chief for Chevy Racing .In his career, Wally has run and won with teams at Lemans and Indy…as well as virtually every major track in the country. He is the real deal and it is apparent in anything he puts his hands on. Wally has countless hours setting up and fabbing items on this Tiger - Just Type in ‘Wally Peat Shelby’ on Google Those of you who know my vintage cars (RaceDeck Racing) , knows that we’re very competitive and always podium finish – plus we never DNF. We spent the last two seasons creating this incredible Tiger racer and only have about 3-4 hours of test track time on this motor. Engine ( under 4 hours test and tune time on motor, 0 race hours) – Built by Kinetics Race Engines, MI . We have used Kinetics for years as we have found them to be the most reliable horsepower. They also provide fantastic customer service and know what it takes in road racing. There was no expense spared in building this wicked and reliable 473 hp 260 ci race motor. Some of what is in this motor; Dart Iron Eagle Heads, Titanium Valve Spring Retainers, Kinetic Valve Springs, Carrillo Rods, Forged & lightened Crankshaft, Wiseco Pistons, Crane Roller Camshaft, MSD Billet Distributor, Edlebrock manifold, Holley /Kinetic HP Road racing Carb, Quartermaster Clutch, Cloyes Timing Chain, Crane Gold Rockers, Aluminum Water Pump, Accusump, K&N filter, Custom road race hi volume oil pan, twin oil coolers, s/s braided lines , Some Other items include - racing 4 Speed Top Loader tranny, Griffen radiator, Custom racing 4 disk brakes and brake assymebly, fire supresant system, Autometer gauges, Watts link, full race set up ___ Rear end, Holley Fuel Pump Reinforced front crossmember , hard to find dropped front spindles, Accusump, custom air ducting, Chromoly full cage, Kirkey race seats, ATL fuel cell, race Transponder, race custom coil-overs and rear leafs, watts link, race drive shaft, custom tuned cross over exhaust, custom steering, dozens of custom one off fab parts that make it so special and so much more…the list goes on The suspension and chassis set-up is absolutely phenomenal.
