History
Car was produced in 1978 as a 1979 model by Argo racing Cars, LTD. in Thetford, England. Car was purchased in 1979 by Breakthrough Racing which was owned by Werner Erhard. Warner raced the car in the 1979 Robert Bosch/Valvoline FSV Championship Series to prove his theory that anyone can "will" themselves to achieve anything they desired. Erhard, who never had a drivers license, finished a respectable 10th place in the championships out of 31 point holders in a year that saw Geoff Brabham capture the Championship with other racing luminaries such as Herm Johnson, Peter Moodie, Bob Lazier and Dennis Firestone completing the rest of the top ten finishers. Apparently satisfied that he had proved his thesis, Erhard decided to "retire" from racing after the 1979 season and put the car into storage. The car was purchased by Billera in 1995 where he undertook a 5-year complete restoration.
Competition History
Car competed in numerous HSR, SVRA and Monoposto F70 events from 2000 through 2006 with many outright class wins and podium finishes. Car finished second in the Monoposto F70 Class 3 championship in 2001, first in the 2002 and third in the 2003. Car also won the 30th FSV Reunion held at Watkins Glen in 2001.
