Description:

By mid-1966, Porsche's new 911 had become a well-developed and thoroughly accepted replacement to their previous 356 models. A bewildering assortment of options remained available, but for 1967, the first ledgendary "S" models with special 9.8:1, high-compression engines would be offered for sale. The jump on horsepower from 130 to 160 at 6,600 rpm gave the new 911S some world-class performance. Only 1,823 examples were built and today, these iconic, first year 911S's remain one of the most highly coveted and prized examples collectors seek out. Chassis "307209S" is a mid-production original 911S model that was sold new in California. The car is still fitted with the original 901/02"S" engine. The car's third owner had it delivered to legendary Porsche racer and restorer, Wayne Baker where it was given a complete and total, no-expense spared conversion to "911R" specifications. Included are fibreglass doors, deck-lid, bonet as well as front and rear valances. Total weight: 1,900 pounds. The engine runs strong, has a growl well in advance of its years and drives solidly all-around. It is a truly race-ready car.
