Description:

Triumph TR 4A vintage racer. Of note, this is a SOLID AXLE car. In the 3 years of 4A production, it is estimated that something less than 25% were ordered with the Solid Axle option which was only available in the North American market--an obscure distinction for sure but just try to find one! Very well set-up, solid and reliable, it is said that this car has been a dedicated racer since new. There is not a hint of rust or rust repair. Does not look to even have taken a minor hit, all gaps and fits are very good. Full 6 point welded cage, fully fused electrical system, with a very nice custom wiring harness and functional charging system. On-board halon fire system with under hood and driver nozzels. Current 5-point harness for driver, lap belt for passenger, Kirkey racing seat. Removable steering wheel. HUGE aluminium radiator with ducting and electric fan. AccuSump, baffled oil pan, oil cooler, braided lines and spin-on filter. Mallory distributor with electronic ignition, Try-Y headers with EGT and 2 1/4" exhaust free flow muffler. Competition prepared S.U.'s by Joe Cuerto. Fresh heads with new springs, competition valve guides, cc.' chambers (10.6:1 compression), alloy retainers and beautiful porting. The master cylinders have been relocated thru the firewall with a custom pedal cluster and a TR 6 brake master vacumm assist with aflin drums and drilled rotors for a great braking system. Suspension: -2 degrees of front camber, 15/16" front swaybar with 3/4" rear swaybar. This car is very well developed with very compliant suspension, no need for it to be any stiffer. Plenty of power and a delightful overdrive. You just might see this car at the Kastner Kup Race. Interesting trades. Shipping anywhere worldwide available. Car is located 20 minutes from the Albuquerque International Airport. This package includes over $5000 worth of spares (see below)

History

The car was purchased in Canada and taken directly to a racecar prep shop. This car has been raced extensively in the Northeast in the 60`s and 70`s. Based in Connecticut and maintained by Group 44. Retired in the late 90`s when racer and car builder Bob Kirkpatrick found it. The car was actively raced thru 2002, changed hands in 2004 to a Colorado racer who never drove the car. Purchased in 2008 and brought to New Mexico. Since then it has been freshened and brought up to current turn-key racing condition. It has been raced in the Southern Rocky Mountain racing clubs however, the owner has simply too many race cars and the TR is not getting enough usage. Performance Data
