1987 March 87C Cosworth "Indy Race Car" - SOLD
This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.
Description:
What I know about this car is that it was originally driven by PANCHO CARTER and sponsored by Hardee's and the Machinists Union Team with the number 29. This is a MARCH 87C chassis with a Cosworth engine for the 1987 and 1988 CART season (Championship Auto Racing Teams). The USAC registration serial number for 1987 is 0724 meaning that was the 24th car registered in 1987. For 1988, the USAC registration number was 0842. The CART registration is number 108. I do not know much about the car only that Pancho Carter raced it, and it was put on display straight from the speedway to Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Corporate Headquarters after one of the aluminum block cylinders cracked in a CART race event. The car has been on display from 1988 to 2002 and garage safe since then in South Florida. The only thing I know that the car is missing is the seat and the computer box. The engine does not run but is completely there. Otherwise, in good original untouched and unrestored condition. In other words, straight from the track back in 1988.
