After an extensive two year restoration, this car first ran in vintage events in 1984. During the
next eight seasons of constant development it has been competitive with the front runners in it's
class in VARAC, SVRA, and VSCDA. The specifications below are comprehensive and speak for themselves.
According to an expert on these car this car may more accurately be referred to as a Convertible D 1330.

Engine

  • 912 case Type 616/36 (number 9477}
  • Late 356B crankshaft, Std./Std., journals shotpeened
  • 912 connecting rods, balanced and blueprinted
  • 6 1/-2 pound flywheel
  • Special aluminum front pulley with steel insert
  • crankshaft, flywheel, clutch and front pulley balanced by Gar1and & Sons, Leaside Ontario
  • New set of Arias .040 over forged pistons in cast iron barrels
  • comp. ratio 1l.5 to 1
  • Barrels machined by Ray Litz Competition Engineering
  • Special 1ightweight wrist pins
  • Spacers installed between rocker arms
  • Tips of exhaust rocker arms ground and shotpeened
  • Special chrome moly pushrods
  • Full E.P. spec cylinder head modification by Vic Skirmants
  • 40mm intake va1ves with lash caps
  • 34mm sodium coo1ed exhaust valves
  • special valve springs and titanium valve spring retainers
  • Solex intake manifolds matched to cylinder heads
  • Elgin 7805 camshaft, 312 degree duration, .520 intake 1ift
  • Bursch 1 5/8" dia racing exhaust system
  • Modified 8 blade cooling fan
  • Baffle added in fan housing in place of stock oil cooler
  • Note: With this setup the engine should be producing l50 hp plus at 6800 rpm
Fuel System

  • Harwood 8 U.S. Gal. moulded foam-filled fuel cell mounted in trunk conpartment
  • Holley electric fuel pump
  • Holley l-4 psi adjustable fuel pressure regulator
  • FRAM HPG-1 racing fuel filter with replaceable element
  • Manual fuel shutoff valve under dash
  • Solex 40 P11-2 carburettors with 36 mm venturis
  • Aeroquip stainless steel braided hoses and aluminum AN6 fittings for fuel system
Oil/Water System

  • Oil pump cover and case third piece modified for full flow oil system
  • Stock oil cooler replaced with Gene Berg block-off plate
  • Two Long Manufacturing l 1/2" x 8" x ll" 72 plate oil coolers mounted at front behind horn grilles
  • Oberg Model 600 oil filter with cleanable screen mounted under left rear fender
  • Mocal oil temperature thermostat mounted under left rear fender
  • Aeroquip AN10 fittings and hoses used for oil system
  • Finned aluminum 1 1/2 qt. deep sump fitted to engine case
Electrical System

  • 12 Volt system to operate fuel pump, ignition, gauges and brake 1amps
  • Bosch 009 distributor with 7100 or 7300 rpm rotor
  • Bosch 12 volt blue coil
  • Generator modified for racing
  • Hella master shutoff switch mounted on left front fender
Body

  • All steel body panels
  • All undercoat removed
  • Welded-in roll cage by CSC Racing Products with hoop under dash and door side protection tubes. Primary roll cage tubing 1 3/4 O.D.to CASC specifications

  • Car presently fitted with Yokohama A008R 185/70 HR 15 shaved
    tires on Porsche 5 1/2 J x 15 steel rims.
